Tera Mai™

Tera-Mai ™ is the name of the healing system that is based on the four elements;Earth, Fire, Water and Air. Kathleen Milner gave the name to this healing system and it is a protected trade mark world wide.
Tera-Mai ™ has this trade mark, to ensure that all initiations are performed in the same manner that Kathleen Milner performs them. In this way everybody is ensured that they all receive the same initiations. In 1983 Kathleen Milner was initiated into the first two grades of Reiki by a Master from the line of Hawayo Takata and Iris Ishikuro.

Hawayo Takata was initiated into Reiki but was never given or taught the complete initiation techniques. She was only given the symbols and initiations for the element Earth. Earth is an important energy because grounding is an essential part of healing. The initiation technique for the elements of Fire, Water and Air were left out. Hawayo Takata introduced Reiki into the Western world and many people were initiated into Reiki. Takata didn't think everybody was ready for the amount of energy she could give. She decided to ask a high fee for the Mastership and left out certain parts of the initiation procedure and not pass on all the symbols. None of the initiatees could perform the same miracles as Dr. Mikao Usui or as Hawayo Takata.

The most important lesson one learns from Reiki is that you're not responsible as to whether someone heals or not. The healer is merely a channeller. Due to the high costs Kathleen Milner thought she would never be able to get her Reiki Mastership. After a period where she had two major car accidents and was physically in very bad condition, she found somebody who could train her for her mastership for a considerably lower cost. Kathleen Milners health improved and eventually she started teaching Reiki herself. Her students were pleased, but Kathleen Milner felt as though there must be more possible. She started doing research on how to gain full knowlegde and retrieve the power of all the healing rays of the elements.

In her search for this knowledge Kathleen Milner discovered that Hawayo Takato had taught one particular student more than other students. Kathleen Milner is a born psychic and a healer. She asked for help and during 1991 she received the symbols that needed to be added to the initiations. The Reiki energy became stronger. In the time that followed she was introduced to new energies which feel different when used. Reiki feels like cold and warm energy flowing through the palm of the hands. The other energies feel like tingling, electric shocks, a breeze and like water. These energies are all part of the Tera-Mai ™ Seichem initiations. Kathleen has written several books one of which is "Reiki and the other Rays".

Reiki corresponds to the element earth and feels like cold and warm flowing energy. The element earth, Reiki, is of fundamental importance for all the rays of energy. Without Reiki little to nothing can happen on a physical level and is the basic energy which is required.

Tera-Mai Reiki is regarded as a stronger and expanded form of the traditional form of Reiki and as a base for the initiations of the other three energies – Sakara, Sophi-El and Angeliclight. These energies are connected to the elements fire (Sakara), water (Sophie-El) and air (Angeliclight), feeling like small electric shocks, like water and like a breeze respectively.
